MedStar Health is looking for a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join our team at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital!
The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Assists physician with routine to complex invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures. Responsible for patient management prior to, during and after the procedure. The incumbent in this position will work in a multidisciplinary lab, working with a variety of service lines, in addition to diagnostic cardiac procedures.

Primary Duties:
- Supports departmental goals and ensures compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs and assists with complex cardiac catheterization procedures, including contrast administration and physiologic monitoring.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Cath Lab operations and serves as a preceptor and mentor to new staff.
- Maintains accurate patient records, manages inventory, and ensures proper use and upkeep of medical equipment.
- Delivers comprehensive pre- and post-procedural patient care, including education, monitoring, and emergency response.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Completion of the two-year Cardiovascular Technologist training program from an accredited college (Required)
- Additional education in basic sciences (Preferred)
- 6 months cardiovascular lab procedural experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications:
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular CredentialingInternational (CCI) (Required)
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 days (Required)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
