Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and other modalities to alleviate pain and improve function.
- Support patient care activities by monitoring progress, documenting responses to treatment, and adjusting interventions under supervision.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention strategies, and post-discharge care plans to promote ongoing recovery.
- Conduct assessments of patient physiology and anatomy knowledge to inform treatment approaches for conditions like orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
- Assist with discharge planning by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transition from clinical settings to home or community environments.
- Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Support inpatient, outpatient, home health visits, and skilled nursing facility activities by providing skilled nursing support as needed.
- Participate in clinic operations including preparing treatment areas, sterilizing equipment, and managing documentation for quality assurance.
Experience
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings such as hospitals or acute care units is highly desirable.
- Skilled nursing facility experience or outpatient clinic background in physiotherapy is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy is a plus.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes within healthcare environments enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Prior work in home health or pediatric settings demonstrating adaptability across diverse patient populations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology along with strong understanding of anatomy and physiology principles is essential for delivering safe and effective care.
