Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations focusing on dermatological conditions, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Perform and assist with esthetic laser treatments, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin injections, and other cosmetic procedures to enhance patient appearance and confidence.
• Manage complex dermatological cases involving skin infections, inflammatory conditions, and chronic diseases by developing tailored treatment plans.
• Administer injections, including immunizations and therapeutic agents, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
• Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with physicians and specialists for case management, referrals, and follow-up care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Conduct triage assessments for urgent dermatological issues via telehealth or in-person visits to prioritize patient needs effectively.
• Assist in clinical research projects related to dermatology treatments or new skincare technologies to advance evidence-based practices.
• Educate patients on skin care routines, medication administration, wound care including suturing techniques, and post-procedure instructions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across specialties such as infectious disease care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health to provide holistic patient care.
• Participate in discharge planning for inpatient dermatology cases or post-acute care settings like assisted living or nursing homes.
• Ensure all procedures adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to maintain a safe clinical environment.

Skills

• Proven experience administering injections—including dermal fillers and botulinum toxin—and performing laser treatments in a dermatology setting.
• Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
• In-depth knowledge of dermatological conditions coupled with physiology understanding relevant to skin health and aging processes.
• Skilled in performing physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging interpretation related to skin disorders.
• Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to triage urgent cases effectively via telehealth or in-person consultations.
• Familiarity with CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), ICD-9/10 for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
• Experience working within hospital medicine or outpatient clinics specializing in esthetic medicine or general dermatology.
• Ability to manage acute pain situations and perform procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization for medication delivery or hydration therapy when necessary.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols specific to dermatological procedures and sterile processing techniques.
• Capable of working with diverse patient populations including children, seniors requiring memory or dementia care, individuals with developmental disabilities or those in hospice & palliative medicine settings.
• Strong communication skills for educating patients about skin health maintenance and treatment options while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
