We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cardiac Cath Lab Technician to join our dynamic cardiovascular team. Duties
- Prepare and set up the catheterization laboratory for scheduled procedures, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and sterile techniques are maintained.
- Assist cardiologists during interventional procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously, including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory status, throughout procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy and sonography devices to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique standards to prevent infections during invasive procedures.
- Document procedural details accurately in patient records, including physiological data, contrast media used, and any complications encountered.
- Support post-procedure patient care by monitoring recovery and providing clear communication regarding instructions and next steps.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a cath lab setting or interventional radiology environment with a focus on cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Knowledge of physiology related to cardiovascular function, anatomy of the heart and vascular system, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to cardiology, radiology, and emergency medicine.
- Hands-on experience with telemetry monitoring systems for continuous cardiac rhythm surveillance.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique protocols essential for invasive procedures.
- Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable, demonstrating ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations.
- Proficiency in sonography or diagnostic imaging techniques used during interventional procedures is a plus.
