What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Medicine Physician position at Medrina?
Medrina is a large, physician-owned practice that has been a national group for over 15 years. We are currently looking to add physicians to the team in our Birmingham, AL market!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to SNF patients, including assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Responsible for full medical management and primary care
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EMR
Required Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Alabama license
- Board eligible/certified in Internal Medicine
- Active DEA license
- Experience managing adult/geriatric patient populations
- Strong clinical decision-making and time management skills
Preferred Experience:
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or post-acute care experience
- Inpatient hospitalist
- Geriatric Medicine

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting while working with patients as well as working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
- Must wear the required PPE per company and/or facility requirement.
- Must comply with facility vaccination requirements.
