Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Will be required to read specifications to identify material types, specific job requirements, and deviations from the Company standard practices.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and evaluating requests for proposals.
- Reviewing construction documents and understanding scope of work to bid.
- Executing take-offs of construction documents.
- Read specifications to identify piping material types/joining methods, specific job requirements, and deviations from Company standard practices.
- Reviewing material takeoff for completeness and accuracy.
- Entering take-offs into database.
- Obtaining pricing for specialty materials.
- Executing material/labor evaluations for specialty materials.
- Soliciting bids from subcontractors and vendors.
- Informing immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted item or database.
- Developing and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Attending divisional meetings.
- Provide quality control checks of other employees' work output.
- Assist Bid Captains with estimate generation and finalization.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver an accurate product while meeting deadlines.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- 2 years of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
- Ability to perform detailed labor and material take-offs.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Bluebeam.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Knowledge of estimating software.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or
- Business degree
- Quiet environment.
- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pound.
