Senior Scientist

Position Summary

The Bioanalytical Senior Scientist is responsible for the conduct of bioanalytical studies by LC-UV or LC-MS to support the performance testing and research biology groups at Emperor Blvd. The position is to provide accurate scientific research to ensure sponsor projects are completed to plan. This position is also responsible for assisting in training and supervising junior staff. All work performed in this position is to comply with all quality and safety regulations.

Essential Functions

• Analyze organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationship, or reactions, using chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry techniques.
• Adhere to MedPharm’s procedure and guidance documents.
• Adhere to MedPharm Health & Safety Policy and OSHA regulations at all times and to ensure the safety of others in any procedures or tasks performed.
• Promptly record all data using Good Documentation Practices as per MedPharm US procedures.
• Ensure that all documentation, computer data and records are stored appropriately.
• Confer with scientists to conduct analyses of research projects, to interpret test results, or to develop non-standard tests.
• Develop, improve, or customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, or analytical methods.
• Direct, coordinate, or advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components or physical properties of materials.
• To undertake general waste disposal & contribute to ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the lab, ovens, fridges, incubators, and glassware washing
• Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed.
• Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency or to diagnose malfunctions.
• Act as subject matter expert for analytical and bioanalytical methods, including method development and sample analysis information.
• Provide technical risk assessments for ongoing project work and corrective actions.
• Any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned.
