We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about improving access to behavioral healthcare and thrives on building strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate understands the unique needs of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and community healthcare organizations, with knowledge of HRSA guidelines, Medi-Cal/Medicaid reimbursement models, and the operational challenges community clinics face. Experience in healthcare business development, behavioral health integration, or working with FQHCs is highly preferred.
As a Business Development Representative, you will play a key role in expanding Mindhealth Wellness' partnerships throughout Southern California by collaborating with FQHCs, healthcare organizations, and community providers. You will help organizations strengthen their behavioral health service offerings through innovative solutions in psychiatry, addiction medicine (Medication-Assisted Treatment/MAT), and integrated behavioral health programs. Summary:
We are seeking a specialized Business Development Representative (BDR) to accelerate our footprint across Southern California’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). In this role, you will prospect, qualify, and secure partnerships with community health leadership teams looking to scale their behavioral health, psychiatry, and addiction medicine (MAT) service lines. You will position our solutions as a vehicle to improve patient outcomes, capture enhanced reimbursement, and meet compliance metrics without expanding administrative overhead.
Responsibilities:
· Strategic Prospecting: Identify and map SoCal FQHCs, Look-Alikes, and community health networks seeking service expansions.
· Executive Engagement: Secure qualified discovery meetings with C-Suite leaders, including Chief Executive Officers, Chief Medical Officers, and Behavioral Health Directors.
· Value-Based Pitching: Align our solutions with core FQHC drivers, including HRSA compliance, CalAIM requirements, Uniform Data System metrics, and HEDIS measures.
· Clinical Qualification: Identify specific capacity gaps in prospective clinics, such as long psychiatry waitlists, lack of MAT-certified providers, or a need for virtual therapy.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal clinical experts and Account Executives to build tailored proposals that solve regional medical care gaps.
· CRM & Data Compliance: Document all healthcare stakeholder interactions accurately in Salesforce, maintaining strict HIPAA awareness.
Skills / Qualifications / Education:
· Industry Experience: Minimum 2 years of B2B sales development experience specifically targeting FQHCs, community health centers, or public health systems.
· Subject Matter Familiarity: Foundational knowledge of integrated behavioral health models (e.g., CoCM), addiction medicine (Suboxone/MAT), psychiatric workflows, and Medicaid/Medi-Cal billing.
· Mission-Driven Communication: Ability to speak the language of community health, balancing business value with a clear focus on patient equity and access.
· Sales Enablement Tech: Experience navigating complex health system directories using tools like ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and healthcare-specific databases.
· Regional Mobility: Willingness to travel across Southern California for on-site clinic visits, regional FQHC coalition meetings, and state primary care association events. [1, 2, 3]
