MedNOW Clinics is seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing outpatient healthcare team.
In this role, you will work closely with providers and clinic staff to support safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced clinic, communicates professionally, takes ownership of their work, and understands the importance of creating a positive experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily schedules, patient charts, and exam rooms.
- Greet, room, and prepare patients for their appointments.
- Record medical histories, medications, allergies, vital signs, and visit information.
- Perform point-of-care testing, including urine testing, rapid testing, screenings, and EKGs.
- Perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens, and process laboratory orders.
- Administer and document medications, injections, and immunizations as directed.
- Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Process medication refill requests, referrals, patient messages, and follow-up calls.
- Accurately document patient care and manage assigned worklists in the electronic health record.
- Clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms according to infection-control standards.
- Support patient flow and assist other clinic team members when needed.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS or CPR certification.
- Previous hands-on experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
- Experience taking vital signs, documenting patient information, and supporting clinical procedures.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Medical Assistant certification or registration.
- One or more years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Experience with phlebotomy, injections, immunizations, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
- Experience using Athenahealth or another electronic health record system.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills, depending on clinic needs.

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the clinic, regular bending and reaching, fine motor skills, and the ability to assist with patient positioning. Employees may be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, infectious materials, and other common clinical hazards. Required safety and infection-control procedures must be followed at all times.
