DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- HSWs will be responsible for direct care services to residents in a Nursing Home Long Term Care Setting.
- HSWs must provide support and assistance with daily activities as directed by supervisor.
- HSWs must adhere to the mandatory overtime policy and guidelines set by the facility.
- New graduates will have an extended orientation with an HSW Supervisor.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 12-hour shifts consist of 11 worked/billable hours, plus a 30-minute paid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks
- 8-hour shifts include a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
- A seven-day period beginning Saturday at 12:01 a.m. and ending the following Friday at midnight
- Any time over 40 hours per week is paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate
- Agency staff must work two full weekends per month
- Weekend definition: Saturday & Sunday for dayshift, Friday & Saturday for nightshift
- Minimum work requirement: at least three (3) days every 30 days to maintain PRN status
- Holiday shifts: Paid at 1.5× hourly rate for 8-hour shifts (major holidays) and 4-hour shifts on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
QUALIFICATIONS
- Health Service Workers must be Certified Nursing Assistants, certified and in good standing with the West Virginia Nurse Aide Registry.
- HSWs must hold a valid WV Licensed Practical Nurse License.
- HSWs must have a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.
- HSWs must possess a current and valid Food Handler's Card.
- HSWs must have a high school diploma or GED.
