Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN - Scrub & Circulate)
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) with expertise in dual scrub and circulate roles for an active Surgical Services department. Focusing heavily on outpatient procedures with limited inpatient care for adult and geriatric populations, this position handles a wide variety of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology (Cataracts), Podiatry, Pain, and Endoscopy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intraoperative Nursing Care: Function interchangeably in both scrubbing and circulating capacities across multiple surgical specialties.
- Cataract & Specialized Procedures: Provide specialized intraoperative care for cataract extractions and ophthalmology cases, alongside general surgical and endoscopic procedures.
- PACU & Phase I Recovery: Support patient care transitions, including Phase I post-anesthesia recovery management as needed.
- Patient Advocacy & Safety: Maintain sterile fields, manage surgical instrumentation, verify surgical site protocols, and advocate for patient safety throughout the perioperative continuum.
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately document surgical notes, supply usage, and intraoperative care in the Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Specialized Experience: Dedicated hands-on experience with Cataract surgical procedures [Required - Non-negotiable].
- Clinical Experience: 2–5 years of Perioperative (OR) RN experience [Required].
- Dual Skill Set: Proven competency in BOTH scrubbing and circulating roles [Required].
- Multi-Specialty & PACU: Demonstrated experience in multi-surgical specialty environments and Phase I / PACU care [Required].
- Facility Experience: Experience working in small or community-based operating room environments [Required].
- EMR Systems: Proficiency with Cerner EHR [Required].
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) [Preferred].
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required].
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the AHA [Required].
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the AHA [Required].
- Transportation: Reliability to commute independently to assignments [Required].
Salary : $55 - $60
