Certified Medical Assistant
Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical support under the direct supervision of an Office Nurse or Physician. The role requires a professional appearance, caring attitude, strong patient-service skills, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws, injections, immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within MA scope.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and obtain vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
- Assist patients to and from exam rooms and during procedures.
- Maintain clean and properly stocked exam rooms.
- Take and return patient phone calls as directed.
- Provide patient instructions as directed by the physician.
- Maintain medical records, referral forms, lab slips, and other documentation.
- Assist with nursing procedures as directed by the physician.
- Order and maintain adequate clinical supplies.
- Work collaboratively as part of a clinical team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned while remaining within MA certification guidelines.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant education/training. required
- At least 3 years of relevant Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting. required
- Current Medical Assistant certification. required
- BLS certification. required
- BLS must be from AHA.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Certification:
- Medical Assistant Certification – Required.
Salary : $20 - $27
