Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography program. - Required.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI. - Required.
Current BLS certification. - Required.
Proficiency in performing echocardiograms and interpreting cardiac anatomy and function. - Required.
1 years of experience in a clinical echocardiography setting. - Strongly Preferred.
Experience with EMR and PACS systems. - Strongly Preferred.
Familiarity with contrast echocardiography and advanced imaging techniques. - Strongly Preferred.
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The Echocardiography Tech will be responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform transthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiograms (TTE/TEE) and stress echocardiography procedures according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging software.
- Obtain high-quality images and accurate measurements of cardiac structures and function.
- Collaborate with cardiologists to provide preliminary findings and ensure timely interpretation of results.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the exam.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure equipment is regularly cleaned, maintained, and functioning correctly; report issues promptly.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and training to maintain professional competency and certifications.
