ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following)
- Accurately prepare new patient profiles
- Limited designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the
- Proficiently operate the cash register which may include opening/closing functions
- Accurately/correctly utilizes the pharmacy operation's computer software system
- Effectively performs and accurately records all assigned quality control activities based on established procedures/protocols
- Continuously demonstrates and achieves all established customer service standards
- Answers the telephone, triages to appropriate person, and takes messages
- Assist in ensuring the pharmacy and related equipment are cleaned and maintained based on established policy and procedures
- Strictly maintains all pharmacy established Quality Assurance activities
- Maintains necessary work skills and knowledge by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars,
- Follows established channels of authority and communication throughout the organization
- Attends designated departmental meetings
- Adherence to all policies and procedures regarding pharmacy services
- Any other additional duties that are reasonably requested which include operating cash register and opening/closing pharmacy operations.
- Good knowledge of retail pharmacy procedures, practices and equipment relating to operating a cash register and pharmacy clerical support job functions
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Ability to effectively and professionally represent the company
- Strong ability to positively interact with other people e.g. company customers
- Some knowledge of principles and practices of pharmacy business administration
- Some knowledge of functions, organizations and governing laws and regulations of pharmacy
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year's experience in retail pharmacy as a pharmacy sales support/clerk/cashier position
- Possess a working knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug use
