Epic PB Claims Consultant
Position Title: Epic PB Claims Consultant
Type: Contract / Consulting Engagement
Location: Remote
$75-80/hr W2
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic PB Claims Consultant to support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of Epic Professional Billing (PB) Claims workflows for large healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate will possess strong implementation experience, deep Epic PB expertise, prior consulting experience, and a proven track record supporting complex health systems and enterprise-scale environments.
Required Qualifications
- Epic PB Claims Certification (required)
- 5 years of Epic experience with a strong focus on Professional Billing and Claims
- Prior Epic implementation experience, including at least one full lifecycle implementation from design through go-live and stabilization
- Previous healthcare consulting experience in a client-facing role
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, claims management, billing workflows, and reimbursement processes
- Experience with workflow design, system configuration, testing, integrated testing, and go-live support
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operational, clinical, and technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Epic certifications strongly preferred (PB Administration, Hospital Billing, Charge Router, SBO, Tapestry, etc.)
- Experience supporting large integrated delivery networks (IDNs), academic medical centers, or multi-hospital health systems
- Experience leading or supporting multiple Epic implementations and optimization initiatives
- Knowledge of payer requirements, claims edits, denial management, and reimbursement methodologies
- Experience with Epic upgrades, conversions, and revenue cycle transformation projects
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Epic PB Claims implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into Epic solutions
- Configure, build, test, and validate PB Claims functionality and related revenue cycle workflows
- Facilitate design sessions and provide recommendations on best practices and workflow improvements
- Support integrated testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live planning, and post-go-live stabilization
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide ongoing support and optimization recommendations
- Develop project documentation, training materials, and workflow diagrams
- Partner with client stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes and adoption
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Epic consultant with a strong background in Epic PB Claims implementations, excellent client-facing skills, and a history of delivering successful projects within large healthcare systems. Additional Epic certifications and experience across multiple implementations are considered significant advantages.
