We are looking to add a Director of Finance with previous experience working at an Academic Medical Center or a Tier 1 Research University. This role is hybrid, relocation is offered as well as the opportunity to work remotely for the first 6 months while transitioning.
Responsibilities:
- Finance Administrator for the Center - Directs the business office personnel and operations, further streamlining and documenting operations and workflows
- Develop onboarding training program for new hires in the business office
- Grants management - budgeting and financial management and reporting experience (CTSA experience highly preferable)
- Experience with clinical trial service billing and setting University Service Provider rates for federally and industry sponsored research
- Deep financial analysis experience - projecting and impacting outcomes
- AMC/University experience in a high-level financial management role
Will Need:
- Deep expertise in NIH grant mechanisms, with specific experience managing Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA).
- Mastery of 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and federal effort reporting requirements.
- Experience managing complex multi-site sub-awards and collaborative research agreements.
- Proven experience in developing and defending University Service Provider (USP) or core facility rates for federal and industry sponsors.
- Expert knowledge of Clinical Trial Functional Budgeting, including Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA) and clinical research billing compliance (avoiding "double billing").
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required. Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or MPA) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial management experience within an Academic Medical Center (AMC) or a Tier 1 Research University.
- Leadership: At least 5 years of experience managing a business office team, with a proven track record of mentorship and staff development.
