Reports To: AVP of Sales
Position Summary:
The Market Development Manager is a position requiring the ability to work remotely from a home residence, located within a designated geography. The MDM will be accountable for achieving the MBO goals assigned by the AVP of Sales at the beginning of each quarter. Achievement of these goals will determine the variable compensation of the position.
The MDM will also be responsible for following Company expectations such as proper handling of trunk stock, etc. Additionally, the MDM will ensure that all personnel in their Area will perform their job regarding detailing Meditrina products and surgical case support for all clinical use of Meditrina products within the specified geography.
The MDM is required to host weekly 1 on 1 call with AVP and VP of Sales. In addition, any targeted system he/she must coordinate weekly or bi weekly stakeholder calls tracking progress, cases, next steps, etc.
As a higher level sales position. At a minimum you must fulfill our pacing requirement that a TM is subject to. In this position you must demonstrate the following:
· Ability to scale Southern Florida market.
· Achieve minimum quarterly revenue thresholds of new business within the Floria market (Q=calendar month from start date Provided upon interview)
· The MDM may manage Territory Associate personnel, overseen by ASD upon showing progress in the position.
· If MDM is able to demonstrate success in position, promotion to Area Sales Director is next logical step within the organization. This promotion would be determined by execution of representative deals, ability to follow sales process, and drive quota achievement by any representatives managed.
Position Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Market Development Managers will be required to provide and/or perform the following in-order to perform the physical duties of the position:
· Vehicle appropriate for transporting equipment in dry setting
§ Vehicles with open back trucks are not appropriate
· Ability to drive within a 4-hour radius of base city to carry out the responsibilities of the job as well as stay out of town in hotels as needed
· Ability to travel via airplane to TM/TA territories within the Area geography, the Company’s corporate office, national and regional trade shows, and national or regional meetings
· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds in and out of vehicles and boxes
· Ability to navigate a rolling IV pole with equipment from parking lots/decks into clinician offices, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), and Hospitals
· Ability to stand in surgical cases for long periods of time
· Ability to observe and participate in surgical cases as needed without discomfort
· Ability to travel up to 75% of time to conduct field visits with direct reports as well as covering other customer and Corporate office needs
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
MDM will be expected to have the following knowledge and/or experience in-order to properly carry out the requirements of the position:
· Ability to use a Windows based laptop computer, with proficiency in
a. Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
b. Mobile Applications required to share and view marketing materials
c. Home office space and/or equivalent to conduct office related job functions
· Working knowledge of Video assisted surgery to include:
a. Previous experience managing a team selling Hysteroscopy or Laparoscopy Video and Fluid systems
b. Previous experience managing a team selling Hysteroscopic and/or Laparoscopic surgical devices
c. Proven ability to train Surgeons on use of the equipment
d. Proven ability to sell “Innovative Technologies” aimed at changing practice
· Working knowledge of GYN Practices relative to the following areas:
a. Experience selling into GYN space in targeted geography is preferred
b. Recent experience in GYN surgery in the local-regional area is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the previously described requirements, The MDM will be responsible for:
· Interviewing and assisting in the hiring of TM and TA positions as needed
· Overseeing the training and orientation process for new hires within their Area regarding all aspects of their specific Job Description
· Complete field trip visits with direct reports in a timely manner
· Managing all sales and clinical support activities involving Meditrina products for the specified geographic area of responsibility
o On occasion, the MDM will be required to cover company needs in geographies other than the assigned Area of responsibility, but only on an as needed basis
· Managing business related programs for their direct reports and their customers in order to advance the business to include:
o ROI programs aimed at accelerating customer acquisition
o Pricing and related contracts
· Overseeing and managing their team’s mandatory Hands-on Clinical Training of Physicians and Staff for use of Meditrina products
· Support and advise on Meditrina products during Clinical Use in Hysteroscopy cases
· Providing customer information and data to corporate on a real time basis (via CRM or equivalent means).
· Provide field call schedule and call data to corporate on a real time basis (via CRM or equivalent means)
· Provide customer feedback to corporate on a real time basis to include:
o Feedback on use, design, and application of Meditrina products
o Feedback on any product use concerns or any potential for patient harm as a result of Meditrina product use
