Salary Range: $120,000 to 150,000
Position Summary
The Epic Clinical Applications Supervisor provides operational and technical leadership for the Epic Clinical Applications team supporting the health system’s electronic health record (EHR) environment. This role supervises Epic analysts responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, testing, maintenance, and support of multiple Epic clinical modules.
The Supervisor serves as a key liaison between Information Technology, clinical operations, nursing leadership, physicians, and ancillary departments to ensure system solutions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, clinical workflows, and patient care objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Epic Clinical Application Analysts supporting multiple Epic clinical modules.
- Oversee Epic application lifecycle activities including:
- Build / configuration
- Change management
- Testing validation
- Upgrade coordination
- Optimization initiatives
- Production support
- Manage day-to-day operational activities, project assignments, priorities, escalations, and resource allocation for the clinical applications team.
- Provide leadership and oversight across Epic clinical applications, including but not limited to:
- Epic Ambulatory
- Epic ClinDoc
- Orders / Order Transmittal / Bugsy
- ASAP
- OpTime / Anesthesia
- Beacon / Willow / Cupid / Radiant
- Beaker
- Partner with operational and clinical stakeholders to analyze workflows, define system requirements, and recommend technology solutions.
- Ensure adherence to Epic best practices, governance standards, build methodologies, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Lead application readiness activities for Epic upgrades, enhancements, implementations, and optimization projects.
- Support issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and escalation management for complex production issues.
- Monitor team performance metrics, service delivery expectations, project milestones, and support SLAs.
- Participate in strategic planning, roadmap development, and continuous improvement initiatives for enterprise clinical systems.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in:
- Information Systems
- Healthcare Informatics
- Computer Science
- Nursing
- Health Administration
- Related discipline
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
Required:
- 5 years healthcare IT or Epic application experience.
- 3 years hands-on Epic build / configuration experience supporting clinical modules.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or project leadership experience.
- Experience supporting hospital or health system clinical workflows.
Preferred:
- Multi-hospital / integrated health system experience.
- Epic implementation, upgrade, or optimization project experience.
- Experience working with cross-functional clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
Epic Certifications (adjust to your environment)
One or more active Epic certifications preferred/required, such as:

Epic proficiency, accreditation, or certification maintenance may be required.

- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

- Experience with project management, change control, and application governance processes.
