Shipping Team Lead

Salary: $24-25/hour

This position is in Plattsburgh.

The opportunity

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Shipment Preparation & Execution
• Utilize MEDWMS scanners to pick, pack and prepare customer orders as needed.
• Ensure timely processing and scheduling of SCT shipments in accordance with procedure.
• Prepare and verify proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for hazardous materials
  shipments.
• Coordinate all International orders with the International Team.
• Enter and verify invoice and shipment information in FedEx and/or UPS shipping systems.

Shipping Operations & Compliance

•  Provide training, guidance, and on-the-job support to shipping personnel to promote accurate and
  compliant shipping practices.
• Monitor shipping operations to ensure compliance with cGMP, DOT, IATA, and internal quality
  standards.
• Proactively analyze shipping workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and escalate risks or
  issues as appropriate.
• Track operational progress and support the ongoing development of shipping team capabilities.
• Collaborate with other departmental Team Leads to align shipping activities with overall operational
  priorities.
• Oversee and maintain accurate inventory levels of shipping supplies, ensuring availability to support
  daily operations
• Support the Supervisor in initiatives aimed at reducing total unit cost per order.

Customer Service and Order Fulfillment Support

• Partner with the sales team to support order fulfillment and resolve shipping-related inquiries.
• Monitor validated shipments and complete required updates or corrections in SYSPRO.
• Investigate order discrepancies in collaboration with the Inventory team and support timely
  resolution.
• Ensure all committed orders are processed properly and shipped daily in accordance with our
  service level expectations

Health and Safety

• Actively promote and positively influence adherence to Health & Safety policies and safe working
  practices within the warehouse.
• Promptly report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and spills to supervisors or managers on the
  same day they occur.
• Support supervisors and managers in the implementation of Health & Safety initiatives, audits, and
  improvement projects.

Physical Requirements:

• Heavy lifting required at times in excess of 50 lbs
• Comfortable performing physical tasks, including bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and
  standing for an extended period of time
• Must be able to work in personal protective equipment (Tyvek suits, respirator mask, PAPR, gloves,
  etc.) in compliance with safety and cleanliness standards
• Must be able to wear steel-toe or composite-toe shoes
• Must be able to climb ladders on occasion
• Must be able to operate power equipment, such as Forklift, Pallet Jacks, Order Pickers, etc.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment in a lead role
• Certified in DOT HAZMAT and International Air Transport Association (IATA)
• Ability to use forklift, cherry picker, and other powered equipment required.
• Excellent communication skills required; fluent English (oral & written).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• A strong leader with a positive attitude and the ability to coach others.
• Good mathematical skills with the ability to learn quickly.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Knowledge of SYSPRO/MEDWMS an asset.
• Experience with FedEx and UPS software is considered an asset
