What are the responsibilities and job description for the Referral Coordinator position at MediQuest Staffing?
A Full-Service Medical Group with multiple locations, is searching for a Referral Coordinator that can start ASAP! Bilingual is preferred.
The Referral Coordinator processes referrals, verifies insurance eligibility, obtains authorizations, and coordinates patient care with providers and specialists. This role maintains accurate documentation in the electronic health record, monitors referral status, and ensures timely communication with patients, insurance plans, and healthcare partners.
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00/hr DOE
Shift: Monday – Friday / 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Exposition Park)
Referral Coordinator Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 1 year of referral coordination or medical office experience preferred; community clinic experience is a plus
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and referral processing for HMO, PPO, and uninsured patients
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating referrals
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR); experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW), Medpoint, RPS, and eConsult preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds
• High school diploma or equivalent required
