A well-established gastroenterology practice in a desirable Orange County coastal community is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Front and Back Office Medical Assistant to join its team. Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00hr
Shift: Monday - Thursday / 8:30AM - 5:00PM, Friday 8:30AM - 12:00PM
Location: Newport Beach, CA
In this dual-role position, you will support both the front and back office by answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing authorizations and prescription requests, maintaining patient documentation, and collecting payments. Additional responsibilities include taking vital signs, rooming patients, assisting the physician with procedures, and following established pre- and post-operative protocols.
Medical Assistant Job Requirements:
• 2 years of experience in GI or Internal Medicine required
• Must have Medical Assistant experience in both front and back-office functions, including prescription processing.
• Experience with pre-operative care and assisting with in-office procedures
• Knowledge of medical records, insurance authorizations, and patient coordination
• Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus
• Strong communication skills with both patients and staff
• Proven job stability and consistent work history
• Professional, team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
