Foundry Tooling Design
Introduction:
This position involves designing foundry tooling using Creo software and implementing best practices for the no-bake molding process. The primary goal is to enhance quality and reduce lead time in tooling construction.
Responsibilities:
- RFQ tooling
- Design new pattern tooling
- Resolve casting issues
- Re-gate and simulate
- Collaborate with managers to prioritize workflow
- Work closely with tool designers and engineers for tool build and process flow
- Coordinate with pattern makers for tool build direction
Requirements:
Education Requirements:
- Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree
Required Skills for the Design Engineer:
- Foundry Engineer experience (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis and resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process)
- Foundry tooling design experience (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process)
- Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCast
- Strong CAD skills (Creo preferred)
- Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understanding
- Casting simulation experiences (SolidCast preferred)
Desired Technical Skills:
- CNC milling knowledge
