Medina Valley ISD is seeking a Community Relations Coordinator who will help bring our community together through connection, communication, and collaboration. This position will engage alumni, ambassadors, and partners, coordinate district-wide events and committees, and support ongoing communications about district growth and bond progress. Additionally, the coordinator will lead the district’s athletic advertising program and strengthen relationships with local businesses and sponsors to enhance community partnerships.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Two or more years of professional experience in communications, marketing, sales, or community engagement preferred.
- Experience working with an educational institution or nonprofit organization preferred.
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with business, civic, and community groups
- Experience in sponsorship sales, fundraising, or partnership development
- Ability to plan and execute community programs and events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design platforms (preferred: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Canva)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and collaboratively
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Foster community engagement by developing and maintaining relationships with alumni, ambassadors, parents, and local partners.
- Coordinate district-wide programs and committees, including Community Ambassadors, advisory groups, and special task forces.
- Plan and support district events such as community meetings, celebrations, groundbreakings, and recognition ceremonies that highlight district achievements and growth.
- Lead the district’s athletic advertising program, including outreach to potential sponsors, fulfillment of sponsorship agreements, and coordination of signage and media placements.
- Collaborate on bond and growth communications, assisting with updates, materials, and community outreach related to new construction and facility improvements.
- Enhance alumni engagement through outreach campaigns, communications, and events that celebrate connection to MVISD.
- Partner with district departments and campuses to promote programs, initiatives, and success stories that strengthen community relationships.
- Support strategic communication efforts by contributing content for newsletters, website updates, press releases, and social media features that highlight district partnerships and progress.
- Maintain positive relationships with local businesses and civic organizations to expand community support for district initiatives.
- Assist the Communications Department in executing campaigns and events that align with district goals, branding, and strategic priorities.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to attend events and meetings before, during, and after a traditional workday
