Overview:
Medina School of Music is a vibrant, growing music school in Medina/Hamel, MN, dedicated to helping students learn, grow, and experience the joy of music. We serve 500 students each week and provide a highly supportive environment where teachers can focus on teaching, not paperwork.
We are currently seeking a instructors in all instruments to join our growing school!
What You’ll Do
- Teach private music lessons to mostly school-age students (beginners through advanced).
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that blend technique, reading, repertoire, and musical expression.
- Build positive relationships with students and families and help prepare students for recitals and other performance opportunities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and staff as needed.
You’re Not on an Island – How We Support You
At Medina School of Music, teachers are part of a team. You teach; we handle the logistics:
- Office Manager – Manages all non-music parent communication, scheduling questions, billing, and makeups so you don’t spend your time chasing emails or payments.
- Faculty Care Coordinator – Onboards and trains new teachers, supports you with pedagogy and curriculum questions, helps you use our teacher portal, and arranges substitute teachers when you need time off.
- Early Childhood Music Coordinator (ages 4–7) – Your go-to person for our youngest students, with activity ideas, behavior strategies, and age-appropriate resources.
Our goal is for you to walk into each lesson prepared, supported, and able to focus on teaching.
Schedule & Current Openings
We are especially looking for someone who can teach:
- Monday through Friday (1, 3 or 5 days a week): 2:30PM to 8:00PM
- Saturdays: 9:00AM to 3:30PM
We have students waiting in these time blocks.
Typical weekly load is 6–32 teaching hours, depending on your availability and enrollment.
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong music skills and confident, technique in a mix of styles.
- Experience teaching children and teens (studio, school, church, camp, etc.).
- Warm, encouraging teaching style; patient with beginners and young students.
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable collaborating with a team.
- Degree in music or music education preferred, but equivalent experience is also considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $26.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on experience and education.
- Expected hours: 6–32 per week, depending on your availability and student enrollment.
