The MCCC is looking for a skilled person who possesses the same passion to join our team. The qualified candidate will accept responsibility for custodian duties related to the school buildings, campus, facilities, and grounds operations by keeping the buildings and property clean, sanitized, and in an orderly condition. The custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within school facilities. The candidate will be a self-starter, reliable, and have attention to detail.
STARTING DATE: August 1, 2026
SALARY: Appropriate placement on the Classified Salary Schedule
REPORTS TO: Building & Operations Manager

WORKWEEK/YEAR: 260 days as per the Board-adopted calendar
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by performing routine custodian activities and heavy cleaning duties. Cleaning and maintaining floors (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming). Gathers and empties trash. Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities. Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment. Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture. Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleaners. Follows procedures for using chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking lots. Ability to handle light facility repairs. Manages inventory of cleaning supplies. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours. Ability to lift and move heavy objects over 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at particular heights. Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors. Notifies the manager regarding the need for repairs or additions to the building's operating systems.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience as a custodian. Previous experience working in a school setting. Maintain floors by waxing, stripping, buffing, and polishing. Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions. Prior handyman experience is a plus. First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications. OSHA certifications.
