Job purpose
To ensure the optimal performance of ophthalmic medical instruments through installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and calibration, thereby guaranteeing precision and safety in clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Functions
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ophthalmic equipment.
- Fault Diagnosis: Identify and resolve technical issues in equipment to minimize downtime.
- Calibration: Adjust and verify device accuracy according to manufacturer specifications.
- Equipment Installation: Configure and install new equipment in clinics and hospitals, ensuring proper operation.
- Training: Instruct medical and technical staff on the proper and safe use of the equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all service activities performed and report any recurring issues.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities comply with applicable safety regulations and quality standards.
Mandatory Requirements
Education: Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years in biomedical instruments maintenance.
Technical Knowledge
Experience in medical equipment calibration and knowledge of biomedical safety regulations.
Technical Skills
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electronic, and software faults in medical equipment.
Languages
Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
Ability to accurately interpret technical manuals and documentation in both languages.
Must be fluent in spoken English for effective communication and technical coordination.
Travel availability
Full availability and willingness to travel both nationwide and internationally according to service and training needs.
Desirable Requirements
Driver's License: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
