What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print & Mail Specialist / Marketing & Production Assistant position at MedicareCompareUSA?
About Us
MedicareCompareUSA helps healthcare providers guide their Medicare patients through insurance decisions, protecting continuity of care between patients and their doctors. We're an independent agency offering education and plan-enrollment services, and we support Medicare helplines connecting hospital systems, physician groups, and pharmacies to more than 6 million Medicare beneficiaries nationwide.
About the Role
We're looking for someone hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to build real skills — experience not required, we can train you. You'll run the full production side of our Print & Mail department (equipment, mail compliance, inventory) and also get exposure to graphic design, patient email campaigns, data handling, light website work, and social media. It's a great fit if you like variety, want to learn a lot fast, and are looking for a role with room to grow rather than a repetitive task-by-task job.
What You'll Do
Print & Mail Production
- Set up and run printing, copying, scanning, and bindery equipment (collator/folder/inserter, coil punch/binder, shrink wrap, postage meter, etc.)
- Handle routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot jams, coordinate service calls, and keep daily maintenance logs
- Prepare, sort, and process mail in compliance with USPS bulk mail requirements
- Monitor and restock paper, toner, and supplies; track costs, order parts, manage recycling/waste
- Load, box, and transport print jobs; drive to the post office for regular deliveries
Marketing & Data Support
- Assist with graphic design for patient communications and marketing materials (we'll teach you)
- Help build and send patient email campaigns (eblasts) several times a week
- Support light website updates and edits
- Help select photos and post approved content to social media
- Manage files securely and follow HIPAA/PHI guidelines for all patient data and communications
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable juggling several tasks/priorities in a day
- Willing to learn new software and equipment — training provided, but you should be curious and want to figure things out
- Comfortable with physical work: lifting/moving 30–50 lbs regularly, bending, reaching, stacking, and standing for extended periods
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record (verified through WA DOL)
- Available for occasional overtime/weekends during our September–November busy season
- Bonus (not required): familiarity with Mac, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop), Microsoft Office, or any prior print/mail experience
Why This Role
This is a genuine entry point into a stable, skills-based career — you'll leave with production/equipment expertise, design basics, healthcare-data handling experience, and digital marketing exposure, all in one job. We invest in training because we want people to grow into it.
