What are the responsibilities and job description for the Incontinence Operations Manager position at Medically Modern?
Medically Modern is a technology-forward medical supply company operating at the intersection of healthcare, logistics, and operations.
We are in a rare position in the market:
- Fully contracted with all major insurance plans
- One of the only scaled incontinence providers on Long Island and beyond
- An active subscription patient base already in place
- An established referral engine from providers and partners
The foundation is built.
The opportunity now is to scale it intelligently.
Medically Modern’s incontinence business is a fast-growing, subscription-based operation serving patients across New York and beyond. We are fully contracted with all major insurance plans and are one of the few scaled providers on Long Island capable of reliably onboarding, servicing, and delivering incontinence supplies on a recurring basis.
The business already has an active patient subscription base and established referral channels with providers and partners. The next phase is focused on scaling intelligently—optimizing workflows and systems, expanding acquisition channels, and making thoughtful logistics decisions in a high-volume, transportation-heavy operation.
This role sits at the center of that growth and will help shape how the business operates and scales long term.
Location: NYC-based (with occasional travel to our Long Island storefront (Mid-Island Medical))
Reports to: Founder / Senior Management
Type: Full-time
We are hiring an Incontinence Operations Manager to own and run our incontinence business line end-to-end, working directly with senior leadership.
This is a high-ownership role designed for someone early-to-mid in their career who wants to:
- Learn a healthcare operation inside and out
- Be mentored closely by management
- Take real responsibility for outcomes
- Help scale a business that already has momentum
You will be responsible for how this business actually runs, day to day and month to month. The effort you put in will immediately generate results at the same magnitude.
End-to-End Operations
You will oversee the full incontinence patient lifecycle:
- Intake and qualification
- Insurance verification and onboarding
- Subscription management and reorders
- Fulfillment coordination and issue resolution
Your job is to ensure patients receive supplies accurately, on time, every month, with minimal friction.
- Learn the current operation deeply — how work actually gets done
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and failure points
- Improve and document workflows across intake, onboarding, reorders, and fulfillment
- Work with leadership to leverage systems and automation where appropriate
Once you understand the operation:
- Help scale volume without breaking service quality
- Support expansion of growth channels:
- Digital marketing
- Provider and referral relationships
- Ensure operations can support increased demand cleanly
Incontinence is a logistics-heavy business.
You will help think through and execute decisions such as:
- In-house vs outsourced fulfillment
- Shipping workflows and cost optimization
- Inventory flow and reliability as volume grows
This requires practical, analytical thinking — not theory.
- Work closely with existing team members
- Help define roles, responsibilities, and accountability
- Participate in hiring decisions when growth requires it
- Lead by example — hands-on first, delegation later
This role comes with direct access to management and ongoing mentorship in:
- Running a healthcare business
- Operational decision-making
- Scaling systems and teams
- Understanding unit economics and performance drivers
The expectation is that you grow with the business.
- Is smart, hardworking, and highly accountable
- Wants to own outcomes, not just tasks
- Enjoys learning operations from the ground up
- Is excited by ambiguity and problem-solving
- Wants to grow into a senior operator over time
- 2–6 years in operations, consulting, finance, healthcare ops, DME, logistics, or a related field
- Comfort working across multiple workstreams at once
- Strong organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills
- Clear communicator who documents and closes loops
- NYC-based and willing to spend time in the field when needed (Long Island storefront)
Healthcare or DME experience is a plus, but not required for the right candidate.
Why This Role Is Unique- You are not starting from zero — the business already exists
- You will not be boxed into a narrow function
- You will have real ownership and visibility
- You will help build something scalable, not just maintain it
- Strong performance creates meaningful upside and long-term growth
