MEDTemps is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support a busy, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center in the Northern Suffolk area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sterile processing professional looking for flexible, PRN work in a high-quality surgical environment with a consistent weekday schedule.
Job Overview for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care, cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment. This role plays a critical part in supporting safe, efficient surgical procedures and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Job Responsibilities for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician:

Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
*
Prepare case carts and ensure proper instrumentation and supplies for scheduled procedures
*
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity
*
Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection control policies
*
Support departmental operations and quality standards
*
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with clinical staff and vendors
*
Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
*
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician preferred
*
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an instrument room or sterile processing environment preferred
*
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
*
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
*
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
