Position Summary
As the VP Clinical Services / CNO, you will provide strategic clinical leadership and operational oversight for seven skilled nursing communities across Georgia and Tennessee. You will ensure consistent, high-quality nursing and clinical care, regulatory compliance, workforce excellence, cost-effective outcomes, and strong resident experience across the network.
Your leadership will drive best-practice clinical models, standardized protocols, and performance metrics that support organizational growth, sustainability and reputation.
Candidates must have prior business development experience specifically within Skilled Nursing Facilities. Experience limited to home health, home care, hospice, assisted living, or other healthcare settings will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the clinical vision, strategy, and care models across all seven facilities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and accrediting regulations, including CMS, Medicaid/Medicare, State Nursing Home Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Oversee clinical operations: nursing, rehabilitation services, infection control, wound care, quality assurance, risk management and resident care outcomes.
- Establish, monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) across sites: clinical quality metrics, staffing ratios, turnover, resident satisfaction, survey readiness, hospital readmissions, etc.
- Lead, mentor and develop nursing leadership teams (Facility Directors of Nursing, Rehab Directors, Clinical Educators) to promote a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team (Operations, Finance, HR, Marketing) to align clinical services with business goals: census growth, revenue optimization, cost containment, service expansion.
- Standardize policies, procedures and clinical documentation across sites to ensure consistency, operational efficiency and scalability.
- Serve as liaison to external stakeholders: regulatory agencies, medical directors, physicians, families and community partners.
- Travel regularly to each site, conduct facility reviews, provide coaching, lead clinical audits, and ensure readiness for surveys/inspections.
- Champion continuous improvement, best practices, evidence-based care and innovation in long-term/post-acute care settings.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current, unrestricted license in Oklahoma.
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in nursing/clinical services within skilled nursing, long-term care or post-acute care environment; multi-site leadership strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading clinical teams across multiple facilities, driving quality, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and business outcomes.
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, staffing models, cost control, reimbursement environment.
- Proven ability to set strategy and influence across functional areas, build relationships, lead change, manage complexity and travel extensively.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence at executive, facility and frontline levels.
