Responsibilities
- Safely operate vans to transport patients and clients to scheduled appointments
- Assist clients with boarding, disembarking, and securing wheelchair and gurneys
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety and comfort
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during every trip
- Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, and healthcare facilities to coordinate schedules and address any concerns
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and report any issues promptly
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in passenger transportation roles
- Familiarity with paratransit services and commercial driving regulations
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with diverse passengers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting passengers or handling equipment
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and customer service excellence
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early
- Experience in wheelch and gurney operations is a plus but not required
