Certified Medical Assistant | Full-Time | Primary Care
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:15am-3:45pm. No weekends, no evenings!
This position is temporary to start with a potential for permanent hire (with full benefits) depending on performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
- Performs routine specialized procedures such as EKG, FBS, suture/staple removal, ear irrigation, nebulizer treatments, and sterile dressing changes etal.
- Maintains inventories and stocks medicines, vaccines, immunizations and medical supplies as necessary.
- Maintains knowledge and expertise pertaining to OSHA and CLIA standards.
- Develops and maintains an effective and informative training program for all staff members on OSHA, CLIA, Biohazard Waste, and Safety.
- Records/Monitors refrigerator temperature and controls on all lab equipment/tests.
- Interviews and reviews patients for financial status, as appropriate.
- Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues as directed by the provider.
- Performs patient education and discharge instructions.
- Completes referrals and schedules tests for patients.
- Retrieves lab reports and tests from other health care providers.
- Assists the clinical coordinator with additional tasks.
- Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
- Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
- Do prior- authorizations, phone messages, and special projects.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Medical Assistant Certification required (national or state)
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- Prior experience with Immunizations
- BLS certification
- Must have reliable transportation and an active vehicle insurance.
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
