Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plastic Machine Set Up Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, configuring, and maintaining plastic processing equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality plastic components. Your expertise will help optimize machine performance, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Duties
- Set up and calibrate plastic processing machines including plastics blow molding, plastics extrusion, plastics injection molding, and CNC machines to meet production specifications.
- Operate press brake machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication tools to assist in tooling and part fabrication as needed.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on machinery to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Handle materials safely using proper materials handling techniques and operate forklifts when necessary to move raw materials or finished products.
- Document setup procedures, machine parameters, and quality checks accurately in production logs.
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including cranes, assembling molds, machinery, press brakes, and plastic processing machines.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with plastics blow molding, Thermoforming and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and basic math skills for setup verification.
- Knowledge of visual quality inspection standards and procedures to ensure product specifications are met consistently.
- Warehouse experience including manufacturing preferred.
