Registered Nurse for Private Hematology/Oncology Office
TITLE: Chemotherapy Infusion Registered Nurse
POSITION INFORMATION: Performs chemotherapy mixing and administration, physician assistance, information gathering, sample collection, patient education, patient follow-up, supply maintenance, and consultation.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Chemotherapy Administration. Administers SC & IM injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by physician.
- Physician Assistance. Assists physician as needed. Ensures that all information is available, updated, and noted in the EMR.
- Information Gathering. Obtains patient histories. Takes and records various readings such as heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, body temperature, mental status, etc. Obtains laboratory results and documents within the EMR.
- Sample Collection. Collects samples from patients including blood, urine, etc. Prepares samples for analysis or shipment.
- Patient Education. Provides educational information to patients, family, etc. pertaining to the administration of chemotherapy. Answers inquiries provides advice as needed, and updates within the EMR the information provided.
- Patient Follow Up. Answers routine questions from patients, and family. May assist with obtaining referrals, scheduling of radiological studies.
- Supply Maintenance. Accounts for medical supply stock. Assists with inventory for chemotherapy administering supplies including drug inventory as needed.
- Consultation. Consults with other medical personnel and may provide expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, etc.
- Documentation: Must document all nursing activities clearly in practice EMR.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Degree in Nursing
Experience: Experience as a Chemotherapy Nurse preferred but not required. Training will be provided
Certifications/ Licenses: State of Pennsylvania Registered Nurse Certification/License, BLS, and CPR certification required
License:

Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
