Part-time Histotechnologist/Lab Technician
Westgate Dermatology and Laser Center is seeking a part-time Histotechnologist/Lab Technician for our Dermatopathology Laboratory. Qualified candidates should have at least 1-2 years of experience as a Histotechnician, preferably HT (ASCP) certified with an AA, AS, BA or BS degree. However, those with a 1-2 year background as a Lab Technician with an AA, AS, BA or BS degrees are encouraged to apply as we are willing to train qualified applicants. Duties will include, but are not limited to
Accessioning of routine skin pathology specimens submitted to the lab.
Setting up specimens for grossing.
Maintenance of tissue processors and stainers.
Embedding of tissue in paraffin.
Perform microtomy of embedded tissue.
Preparing slides for routine histology, special stains and immunohistochemistry.
Ordering of reagents and documentation of daily laboratory conditions.
Ensure that all safety protocols and OSHA requirements are followed.
Performance of routine maintenance of equipment, cleaning and general laboratory duties.
Perform duties related to compliance with CLIA and OSHA regulations.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
