What are the responsibilities and job description for the Authorization and Verification Specialist position at Medical Imaging Center of Southern California?

We are a boutique style, privately owned Imaging Facility looking for a confident, detail oriented, professional, and skilled person who has knowledge of insurance verifications and authorizations pertaining to radiology. Must have good verbal and oral skills. We pride ourselves in providing excellent patient care and customer service.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Verification of benefits via web and phone.
· Ability to calculate patient payments. Good grasp of mathematical skills.
Must be familiar with CPT codes as well as ICD10 codes.
· Scheduling
· Faxing
· Data entry
· Support of both the physicians and other staff
· Flexibility and adaptability are essential as all staff members are cross-trained in each other's functions and called upon to support one another as needed
· Be exceptionally organized, neat, detail oriented, reliable and efficient
· Be a team-player that interacts well with others and is able to maintain grace under pressure
