We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handling patient inquiries and appointment requests promptly
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and collections accurately
- Review and update patient records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review procedures
- Assist with intake procedures including data entry, medical history collection, and initial patient assessments
- Maintain organized medical records
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups to optimize clinic flow and reduce wait times
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between providers and patients
Experience
- Prior clinic or healthcare office experience is highly preferred, especially in medical clinics
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eCLINICAL WORKS, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms
- Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and other third-party payers
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy with 10-key typing skills
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards for health information management
- Office management or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
