We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant, bilingual in Spanish, to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings,. This role involves providing essential support to healthcare professionals while ensuring high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing clinical and administrative tasks, assisting with patient intake, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation
- Utilize EHR systems to maintain patient records and manage appointments
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient communications
- Conduct basic life support as needed in emergency situations
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology, ICD coding, and documentation standards
- Support outpatient and inpatient care within various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment
- Assist with X-ray procedures when required and maintain equipment cleanliness
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a clinical setting such as a clinic, hospital, or urgent care facility is preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques is essential
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and terminology is advantageous
- Experience working in pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or operating rooms (OR) is a plus
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families
- Proficient in EHR systems for efficient documentation and record management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism
