Our surgery center specializing in ophthalmic procedures is seeking a PRN Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. This position works Fridays only and plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient surgical care for patients undergoing eye procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Position Summary
The Circulating RN is responsible for supervising and directing patient care in the operating room, monitoring the patient throughout the procedure, and collaborating with the surgeon and procedure team to provide a safe environment and pleasant experience for our surgical patients. This role is essential to delivering smooth, efficient, and high‑quality surgical care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures
- Monitor patient status and advocate for patient safety throughout the perioperative process
- Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment
- Verify patient identity, procedure, and consent according to established protocols
- Coordinate with the surgeon and surgical technicians to ensure efficient workflow
- Document intraoperative care accurately and completely
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Previous surgical experience required
- Ophthalmic surgery experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented ambulatory surgery environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
