The MCW Department of Ophthalmology is seeking an academically oriented fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon to join the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. This is an open-rank, full-time position in a traditional-track or clinician-educator track.

The position’s clinical activity is primarily undertaken at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute with possibly one or two half-days per week at satellite clinics. While this practice is largely adult surgical retina, some commitment to caring for pediatric patients is necessary. Ophthalmology faculty members provide clinical coverage at the Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, and Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Successful candidates should bring strong clinical and surgical abilities, well-refined interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to MCW’s academic missions. Candidates must be board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology, must have completed of Retina & Vitreous Fellowship program, and be eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin. An interest in clinical or basic science research is desirable and could be supported.

Qualifications

Must be a licensed MD or equivalent, be board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology, must have completed a U.S. Retina & Vitreous Fellowship program and be eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin.
