Position Type: Full-timeThe Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University, Georgia's only public medical school, invites applications for a Diagnostic Medical Physicist to join the Department of Radiology. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a leading academic medical center dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, research, and innovation.
The Diagnostic Medical Physicist will provide clinical support for diagnostic imaging services by performing equipment performance evaluations, acceptance testing, commissioning, and quality assurance for CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, radiography, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine systems. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, support radiation dose optimization initiatives, and collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff to promote high-quality, safe imaging practices. The position also includes opportunities to participate in education, technology implementation, and clinical research.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- ABR board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Medical Physics.
- CAMPEP-accredited residency in Diagnostic Medical Physics preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ACR accreditation standards, quality assurance, and diagnostic imaging regulations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
