Job Summary
A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) completes focused assessments, assists in developing care plans, coordinates tests and/or therapeutic procedures, and implements ordered treatments through telephonic and direct patient care. Also, a licensed vocational nurse educates patients in their proper care and treatment, manages medication refills and adheres to medication schedules, and supports and guides unlicensed staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Applies nursing process in care provision.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and other disciplines to support and maintain health goals.
- Applies clinical insight to facilitate optimal care.
- Identifies risk(s) and takes appropriate steps towards maximizing safe outcomes.
- Understands and is responsive to patient needs and concerns.
Qualifications
- 2 years experience.
- Graduate of an approved school of vocational nursing.
- Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Texas.
- BLS certification.
