Job Summary and Qualifications
The Monitor Technician provides 24 hour round-the-clock cardiac telemetry monitoring of designated patients who are located throughout the hospital. Must be able to assist with receptionist /clerical duties. The Monitor Technician can expect to care for adolescent through geriatric patients. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.
What you will do in this role:
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to identify EKG rhythms.
- Must be able to successfully pass an EKG exam by 80% or better, post-job offers and within 4 weeks of start date.
- Current BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Completes a competency checklist upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Demonstrates basic computer literacy.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Graduate / GED
- One year recent experience (within the last 5 years) as a telemetry tech and awareness of medical terminology preferred
