Job Summary And Qualifications

• This is a Full Time Night shift position, 7:00pm - 7:00am, with rotating weekends *
  
  

The RN Med Surg Tele performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the cardiovascular service line.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic Telemetry environment
• Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Telemetry patients
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
• Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
• Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
• Participate in cardiovascular department specific initiatives and process improvement
• Promote a supportive Telemetry environment
• Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs
• Maintain high quality (age specific) care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned
• Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Associate's Degree okay to start, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license
• Currently BLS issued by the American Red Cross of American Heart Association
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire and issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Recent acute care experience required

Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals are hospitals for specialized advanced cardiovascular and spine care. The facilities are located near Medical City Dallas. It provides spine care for common spine disorders. Spine care is also provided for rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities. Those include adult and pediatric scoliosis and spondylolistheses. We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
