Job Summary And Qualifications
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Facilities Management the coordinator of Emergency Management /Life Safety, assists the Safety Officer and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of compliance activities for the Emergency Preparedness and Life Safety standards. No direct patient care functions are provided by this position. The employee performs additional tasks/activities as assigned. Provides leadership and consultative services to departments and services within the organization to assist in achieving facility emergency preparedness/regulatory/accreditation compliance.

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in Emergency Management / Life Safety, preferably in healthcare maintenance or engineering operations
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, team facilitation and project management
- Possess a strong knowledge of industry standards and Life Safety Code (LSC), National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), Environment of Care (EOC), Emergency Management, State of Texas Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Occupational Safety and Healthcare Administration (OSHA), Center for Disease Control (CDC), organizational management; quality improvement and change management techniques; planning, accreditation and regulatory standards and the ability to interpret the requirements as applicable to assigned areas; strategic planning principles,
- Proficient in computers and all applications of MicroSoft Office
- Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications
- Prefer CHEP (Certified Healthcare Emergency Preparedness), CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Management), CHSP (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional)
