Job Summary:

Supervises the performance of Laboratory personnel within specialized sections of the clinical laboratory. Orients and trains within these sections and performs testing as needed. Performs duties with a perceptive depth of clinical laboratory tests and procedures, which require the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility. Thorough knowledge of CAP, TJC, CLIA regulations. Assists Manager and /or Director with projects as needed.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• 1.*Plan, organize, and lead Laboratory services in the designated specialty to meet requirements of all accrediting agencies including CLIA, CAP and joint commission.
• 2.*Performs routine histology procedures including receipt, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting and preparations of routine and special stains.
• 3.*Assure orientation, training, and competency assessment of personnel.
• 4.*Assure quality control, proficiency and equipment maintenance according to requirements.
• 5.*Assure turnaround times are met according to lab policy.
• 6.*Maintain policies, procedures and documentation according to requirements.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• 1.*High school diploma required, associate’s degree preferred
• 2.*Minimum of five years of histology supervision experience
• 3.*Certification is required: HT(ASCP) or equivalent
