Director of Food and Nutrition Services

The Director of Food and Nutrition Services has the accountability and responsibility to coordinate the activities of the department to provide optimal patient and customer nutritional care, and performs other functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

  • Accepts accountability and responsibility for consistent, quality nutritional care and service according to hospital/regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for preparation and administration of expense and capital budget.
  • Coordinates clinical patient care activities and medical nutrition therapy and functions effectively as an interdisciplinary team member.
  • Maintains clinical credentials.
  • Follows patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions,use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associate's degree with 5-7 years of prior experience as a Director of Food & Nutritional Services, preferably in a healthcare setting required. Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree preferred
  • Current Food Manager certification with city of Fort Worth required
  • Licensure through the Texas Board of Examiners of Dietitians preferred.
  • Registration the American Dietetic Association as a RD or RDE preferred.
