What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Assistant position at Medical Center Hospital?
- Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, the Patient Care Assistant will assist in patient care duties. Direct patient care is done under the direction of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of sound professional nursing practice to be delegated. The PCA will also perform other assigned duties for which they have been specifically trained for.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required upon hire or transfer to the department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire or transfer to the department.
Training & Experience:
Must have knowledge of some medical and technical terminology and be familiar with hospital policies and procedures. Computer Training will be completed as part of orientation.
