What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Medical Billing?
Medical billing specialist needed for Muti-Speciality billing company. Candidate must have at least 2 years minimum experience with insurance billing and submitting ICD-10 claims. Applicant should have great client relation skills & ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies and the doctors. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload and the ability to multitask. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong decision making and problem solving skills and Microsoft Excel skills.
*Certified Professional Coding Certificate (preferable)
*Knowledge of all types of insurance plans and policies
*Thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and use of modifiers
*Experience with contacting insurance companies and tracking payments
*Working accounts receivable & sending patient statements
*Must know how to read EOBs and understand denial codes
*Posting insurance and patient payments
*Submitting appeals and medical notes to correct rejections and timely filing
*Electronic claim submissions and error corrections
*Electronic Medical Records (eClinicalWorks, Tebra)
*Credentialing with all insurance companies and local hospitals
*Insurance company enrollment and contract negotiation
* Experience with EDI and ERA enrollment for clearinghouse setup
