- Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients
- Manage medical collections by resolving billing discrepancies and negotiating payment plans when necessary
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and patient account information
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and DRG classifications
